Greetings From Our Pastor

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
It is my great pleasure to serve God as pastor of Charity Baptist Church, Prince George, Virginia.  Our church-family is composed of some of the friendliest people you could ever hope to meet.  We look forward to having guests worship with us.
We are a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching, and Bible-preaching Southern Baptist church.  We are afiliated with the Southern Baptist Conservatives of Virginia (SBCV) and the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC).  These connections provide us the opportunity to cooperate with like-minded churches in our state, our nation, and, indeed, around the world in carrying out various mission initiatives and activities.
We take seriously our commitment to "Exalt the Savior, Equip the saints, and Evangelize the sinner."  Accordingly, we offer numerous opportunities each week for our members, regular attenders and guests to connect with God and other believers, grow in Christ-likeness and serve God.  This we do through our worship, fellowship, discipleship, evangelism and ministry programs.   We invite you to join us for Bible study and worship at your earliest opportunity.  We look forward to seeing you soon!

Coronavirus / COVID-19 Impact On Our Church (March 26, 2020) - Health and safety precautions pertaining to the ongoing Coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic had originally resulted in our suspending all activities and services through March 31, 2020.  More recent guidance provided by Governor Ralph S. Northam in his Executive Order Number Fifty-Three of March 23, 2020 now makes it clear that we must extend the suspension to at least 11:59pm, Thursday, April 23,2020.  Do not fear, however, God is still on His throne and has the situation well in hand.  We will resume our normal schedule of activities and services as soon as reasonably appropriate.  Church-members can anticipate periodic updates from their assigned deacons as the situation warrants.  Until we can resume our on-site services, the following passage may bring you a sense of peace and reassurance:  "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV).
Update - April 4, 2020 - Great News!  We are planning a "Drive In" Church service for Easter Sunday, April 12th.  The service is set for 11:00am on that date.  Attendees will "drive in" and remain in their cars.  Everyone should park facing the church.  The service will be conducted from the side lawn between the church and the parking area.  Please pass this information along to other members.  Thanks!
